The International Police Association was established in January of 1950 by Sergeant Arthur Troop of Lincolnshire, England. The IPA was formed as an association of active and retired police officers for social interaction on a worldwide scale. The association's motto is "Servo per Amikeco" which, translated in English, means "Service Through Friendship." The association has a membership of over 312,000 officers in 58 countries worldwide.
Region 24 was officially recognized as a Region of the International Police Association US Section on May 27, 1982. The region was put together by Don Yeowell (Ret’d Seattle Police Sergeant) who recruited the original founding members. At present the Region has members from the four states listed above.
Region members have hosted and acted as tour guides for many retired and active officers from countries around the world. Many have also traveled abroad under the auspices of the IPA and reported back that the services they received were outstanding.
The Region attempts to set up social gatherings throughout the year from potlucks, wine tours, picnics, etc. A list of these events as they come to fruition will be posted on this web site.
